DIY: Wooden Chalkboard

Not only is this rustic craft easy to make but it's very functional and adorable! You could use it for a grocery list, to write a quick note to your loved one or simply for decoration. I plan on making a few for the studio.

 Here's what you'll need // MATERIALS:

  • Chalkboard paint- I used Martha Stewart's multi-surface chalkboard acrylic craft paint in green (which turns out mint.)
  • Wood slice- I found mine at Michael's and used a 40% off coupon!
  • Foam brushes
  • Optional- any other acrylic paints if you'd like to add a border like mine

Instructions:

If you don't have a steady hand, use tape to section off the part that will be the chalkboard. Paint. Let dry. Do another coat.

Add the border with other colors if you'd like. I put some subtle sparkles, silver and aqua paint for fun.

Happy crafting!
